Where the Red Fern Grows
Based simply on the first few chapters, the book cover, and our class discussion, make a prediction for the book. Include your reasoning for your prediction.
My prediction is that the hounds are going to cost too much money because he has been saving his money for two years and the ad has probably changed back to 75$ Bridger #16
Tyler My prediction for the rest of the book is that Billy will go out hunting and get lost. Maybe he will find "where the red fern grows" and something happens to him.
Billy will get the dogs he wanted and be the happiest person in the world. Billy's dad won't be very happy because he wanted to get a mule but he will be happy that Billy finally got the dogs and won't bug him to death. Billy's mom will be happy because Billy will finally get some sleep and she can work without him bugging her. Billy will help his dad on the farm and the dogs will be helpful to them with hunting. Billy's sisters will be very happy to see the puppies. Judging from the front cover of the book and what it says in the beginning of the book about the dog risking it's life for Billy, I think that the front cover scene is when the dog risks it's life for Billy in the woods because he looks worried and it looks scary and dark around him.~Teddy
I think the two dogs are going to already be sold and billy is going to be so upset. But i think he will chase down there current owner to find the dogs. I also think his parents will be very mad when they found out billy is looking and hoping to buy the the dogs -Whit

I think that the story will be about the man's experience as a boy with the redbone hound and then at the end, the dog in present time will come back and live with the man for the rest of his life. Ido think though, the majority of the story will be about the man's story. Taylor #17
Sam10:I think that Billy will get the hounds and when his dad finds out he will be very mad because he wanted to buy a mule for the farm. I think that the dad will punish Billy by making Billy have to hunt for the family and if he doesn't catch anything, there will be no dinner.
Noah 11 I think that the two dogs that the man has been thinking about will make him want to go hunting again with two more redhounds. Also I think the little redhound will come back because he can't find his way home.
Will 3 I think that Billy will get the dogs but somthing wrong will happen like the deal might not be going on or the place might be closed but Billy will fight for them and get them in the end.

Mason #4 I think that billy will get the dog but he will have to hide the dog from his parents. I think his parents will not approve when the find out so Billy will have to give the dog back. But at the last second I think his parents will change their mind and decide to keep the dog. Then Billy and the dogs will become a great hunting team and later on the dog will go missing and and he will be killed.
