What is poverty?

The official definition of poverty is:

–noun
1.
the state or condition of having little or no money, goods, or means of support; condition of being poor; indigence.
2.
deficiency of necessary or desirable ingredients, qualities, etc.: poverty of the soil.

What is your definition? Is it similar to this? What "part" of poverty seems like the most difficult to you (ex: not knowing when you will have your next meal, not having a home, not having enough clothes to keep you warm)?

Name at least one thing you can do right now to be more appreciative of what you have?

  6. My definition of poverty is homeless people or people with very little money. Yes, my definition is similar to the definition above. The part that seems most difficult to me is not being able to keep yourself warm.

One thing I could do to be more appreciative of what I have is to take better care of my things and to not ask for more things.

  7. My definition for poverty is when a person does not have food or a permanent home. My definition is similar to the definition on the blog. The most difficult part of poverty is knowing that many people don't have a home. I would give all the toys I don't need to charity.

  8. My definition of poverty is not being able to afford a good home. A difficulty of poverty is not having the education to get a job. (If there are any jobs at all.) I can think about how many poor families in Africa do not have TV to be more appreciative or Media priveleges.- William

  11. My definition of poverty is not having a home, much food, and not having much to any money. My answer is sort of close to the definition. I think the hardest part about poverty is not living in a house or knowing when your next meal will be. I can donate food, clothes, and other supplies to help poverty.

  14. My definition of poverty means the same thing only in less words. It is to be poor. The hardest thing about poverty is not knowing what I am going to do next like if I will still be alive or If my children will still be alive. I would be more thank full by saying thank you when you get something or treat your clothes better because some people don't even have clothes or any thing.
